About This Project

John Burns Construction Company is the Contractor of Choice and the Prime/General Contractor for a major switchyard construction project at a Midwest nuclear generation facility. This work required a high level of coordination, precision, and regulatory compliance in a highly secure and complex environment. With deep experience in both civil and electrical scopes of work, John Burns successfully delivered critical infrastructure to support power distribution and system reliability, while maintaining safety and schedule within a critical-path construction plan.

Scope Of Work

  • Drilled and poured (55) cast-in-place foundation piers, including rebar cage assembly and installation
  • Excavated and installed 400 linear feet of cable trough with underdrain system
  • Excavated and installed 750 linear feet of conduit and duct banks, along with 10,000 linear feet of buried ground grid
  • Backfilled all excavated areas and installed final top stone throughout the site
