PROJECT OVERVIEW

About This Project

John Burns completed an $11.2 million project as Prime Contractor for Metra to furnish & install a pre-packaged traction power substation at two locations on the Metra Electric Line. Locations include 95th Street / Chicago State University and Riverdale, IL. The caisson depth at the Riverdale location was not adequate as designed. To reach required soil capacities, John Burns’ deep foundation contractor was required to drill deeper. John Burns worked with the drilling contractor and client to resolve this issue in real-time to minimize delays and additional costs.
