About This Project
John Burns completed the demolition of existing Bridges 40 & 42 on the Metra Rock Island District Line. John Burns developed an engineered demolition plan, secured permits and EPA notifications. John Burns self-performed the complete site/civil demolition and the existing concrete structure demolition to accommodate construction of new bridges.

- Developed an engineered demolition plan.

- Self-performed utility disconnects (underground electrical, storm sewer).
- Completed the demolition of concrete structures/abutments.
- Self-performed the environmental abatement and remediation (lead).

- Completed the load out/legal disposal of debris.
