PROJECT OVERVIEW
About This Project
John Burns, Prime/General Contractor, constructed a new train station for the Village of Clarendon Hills. This transit/public agency project was performed on an active platform without impact to revenue service or pedestrian safety. The Clarendon Hills Train Station Project included key activities including civil improvements at an active train station, steel fabrication & erection, structure painting, roofing, site lighting and interior MEP’s. The project was not procured as a Design-Build project; however, the project was significantly over budget at the time of bid. John Burns was engaged to work with the owner and designer to re-design and re-budget the project before the contract was awarded. John Burns worked intimately with the design team, Village of Clarendon Hills, BNSF railroad and Metra to get the job within budget, completed safely, on-time and with minimal (contractor generated) change orders.
